Dorothy Romando

Dorothy May Whitaker Romando, 83, of Cleveland, passed away April 25, 2014 at her home. Celebration of Life Services will be 10:00 a.m April 28, 2014 at Ray Funeral Home with Kevin and Billy Edwards officiating. Interment will be in Lehrton Cemetery.
Mrs. Romando was born March 26, 1931 to Berry L. Whitaker and Mattie Ethel Dunaway Whitaker. She married Joe Romando on January 14, 1953 in Gunnison. She worked as a telephone operator for 20 plus years. She loved to work in her garden planting flowers.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Berry and Mattie Whitaker; husband, Joe Romando; Brothers, Alvin Whitaker, and Louie Whitaker; and sister, Mary Ruth Edwards.
She is survived by her nieces, Margarette Mallette (Clarence), Patricia Durastanti, Peggy Whitaker, Lisa Muirehead, Ethel Mills, Joanne Dunaway; nephews, Billy Edwards, Berry Whitaker, Wesley Tharp, Joe Lee Basie, Raymond Basie; great nieces, Denise Mallette, Trissa Durastanti; great nephews, Allen Mallette, Kevin Edwards; a great-great nephew, Cade Mallette; and care takers, Mrs. Jeanette Watson and Latoya William.
