Frances Stewart

Frances Carpenter Stewart, 92, of Ruleville, passed away Friday, January 17, 2013, at Bolivar Medical Center Long Term Care. Graveside memorial services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, February 22, 2014, in Lehrton Cemetery.
Mrs. Stewart was born on May 20, 1921, in Itta Bena to Aubrey and Juanita Carpenter. She graduated from Drew High School and received a BS degree from Belhaven. She was married to Garland Seale Stewart. After World War II, they made their home East of Ruleville. Mrs. Stewart was a member of the 20th Century Club and Ruleville Baptist Church where she was a choir member for over 50 years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Aubrey and Juanita Carpenter; her husband, Garland Stewart; daughter, Leanne Stewart; and son, Dr. Seale Stewart.
Mrs. Stewart is survived by her daughter, Donna S. Peden (Pete) of Cleveland, MS; daughter-in-law, Judy Stewart of Columbus, MS; three grandchildren, Raegan M. Hackett (Dan) of Durango, CO, Kim Johnson (Brett) of Columbus, MS, and Kevin Stewart (Tabitha) of Columbus, MS; and four great-grandchildren.
Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association, the Disabled Veterans Organization, or the charity of your choice.
