Mrs. Geraldine Holmes Dickerson, 81, of Cleveland, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2013, in Vicksburg, MS. Visitation will be 1:00 - 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Friday, March 22, 2013, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. with Dr. Milton Burd and Bro. Macklyn Hubbell officiating. Interment will be in New Cleveland Cemetery.
Mrs. Dickerson was born in New Hebron, MS. on May 20, 1931, to David Marshall Holmes and Loma Marie Dampeer. She married Elson Ford Dickerson on May 15, 1949. She worked at Lowery's as a manager in the jewelry department for over 29 years. She was a member of Balcony Sunday School Class at the First Baptist Church and a former member of the Cleveland Woman's Club.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Elson Ford Dickerson; daughter, Ann Dickerson Bradberry; brothers, David Preston Holmes and Billy Marshall Holmes.
She is survived by her son, Michael Dickerson (Judy) of Vicksburg; son-in-law, Randall Bradberry of Madison; grandchildren, Will Dickerson (Lindsey), Amanda Hanes (David), Bo Bradberry (C.C.), Laurie Bradberry, Libby Bradberry; and 9 great-grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be David Thornton, Ben Bufkin, Will Dickerson, Bo Bradberry, David Hanes, and Keith Fulcher. Honorary Pallbearers will be Ray Cothran and George Deloach, Jr.
The family would like to send a special thank you to Dr. Paul Pierce III and his wonderful staff, Camellia Home Health and Hospice, and Private Home Care for their wonderful sitters.
