Jean Rogers Owen

Mrs. Jean Rogers Owen, 89, of Madison passed away Sunday, April 17, 2016, at Highland Home. Visitation will be held Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at 12:00 p.m.at Drew Baptist Church in Drew, MS with a Celebration of Life immediately following beginning at 1:00 p.m. Mrs. Owen was born in Rome, MS on May 6, 1926, to James Temples Rogers and Mattie Taylor Rogers. She was a faithful member of the Drew Baptist Church, the Bible Club, and the Methodist Coffee Club. Mrs. Owen was a bookkeeper, a homemaker, and a fantastic cook who loved cooking for her family.
She is preceded in death by her parents, James and Mattie Rogers; husband, James Russell Owen; brother, J.T. Rogers; and sister, Hazel R. Davis. She is survived by a daughter, Donna Owen Maxwell (Dr. W. Maret ) of Madison; sons, Roger Russell Owen of Philadelphia and James "Bamy" Owen (Jackie) of Madison; grandchildren, Dr. Mac Maxwell (Christy), Brad Maxwell (Kim), Jennifer White (Everett), Russ Owen, Chris Owen (Liz), Jim Owen, Josh Owen (Casey) and Jake Owen; and brother, W. Don Rogers. Pallbearers are Jerry Stigler, Bill Rogers, Shurden Owen, Tommy Goodwin, Mike Manning Sr., Reggie Shurden, and Ralph Vanlandingham. Honorary pallbearers will be H.T. Miller, A.C. Tidmore, and Fletcher Clark.
