John Michael Rizzo
Mr. John Michael Rizzo, 64, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, September 5, 2016, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. A Mass of Christian Burial will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, September 8, 2016, at Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church with Father Kent Bowlds and Father Mike Flannery officiating.
Mr. Rizzo was born in Cleveland, MS, on December 17, 1951, to Dominic Peter Rizzo and Violet Yolanda Radicioni Rizzo. He graduated from Cleveland High School then attended Delta State University where he played baseball under Coach "Boo" Ferris. He later attended Mississippi State University majoring in Agriculture. Mr. Rizzo then farmed for over forty years. He was a member of Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church where he was in the Knights of Columbus.
He is preceded in death by his parents Dominic Peter Rizzo and Violet Yolanda Radicioni Rizzo. Mr. Rizzo is survived by his brother, Phillip Rizzo (Ramona) of Cleveland; sister, Gloria Brister (Johnny) of Pace; nephews, Adam Brister, Phil Rizzo (Mary), and Paul Rizzo (Brooks) all of Cleveland; and many beloved extended family members. Pallbearers will be Phil Rizzo, Paul Rizzo, Todd Garner, Bobby Milan, Jerome Hickman, and Leonard Johnson. Honorary pallbearers will be Willie Jones, Willie C. Gooden, Gary Fioranelli, Eddie Gong, Mark Rizzo, Glen Radicioni, and Terry Rocconi. In memory of Mr. Rizzo, the family requests donations be made to Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church.
