Ralph McClure, Jr.
John Ralph McClure, Jr., 63, of Shaw, passed away Sunday, December 2, 2018, at St. Dominic's Hospital in Jackson. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday, December 7, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will be 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 8, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Howard Haar officiating. Interment will follow in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Ralph was born on April 15, 1955, in Cleveland, MS, to John Ralph McClure, Sr. and Hattie Frances Taylor McClure. He graduated from Bayou Academy Class of '75. On March 14, 1980, he married Sara Lou Guest in Hattiesburg, MS. After her passing, he married Bernice Muirhead on August 8, 2011, in Shaw, MS. He was a faithful member of the Pilgrim Rest Church of God of Indianola, Ms. Ralph very much enjoyed his church family there and had a special love for Pastor Howard Harr. He had a close relationship with the Lord Jesus and sought after him daily. Ralph worked as a lineman for Delta Electric then Entergy for 40 years, and he was a Master mason. He loved the camaraderie and fellowship of all of his friends. He could often times be seen around Interstate Woods riding in his air conditioned Polaris. Prior to his illness, he greatly enjoyed traveling to see his daughter and grandchildren. Ralph loved all his family dearly and was especially proud of his grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents, John Ralph McClure, Sr. and Hattie Frances Taylor McClure; and his second wife, Sara Lou Guest McClure.
Ralph is survived by his wife, Bernice McClure of Shaw; daughter, Margaret "Maggie" McClure-Lingle (Andy) of Seattle, WA; sister, Sandra Dawson (Tommy) of Foley, AL; brother, Walter McClure (Sandi) of Shaw; grandchildren, Alex Loffreda of Seattle, Skye Loffreda of Seattle, Cole Loffreda of Seattle, Brendan Loffreda of Seattle, Hannah Grace Jackson and Emma Webb; step-children, Matthew Wilson of California and Tara Jackson (Brian) of South Dakota; and nephews, Patrick Bertschlar of Foley, AL, and John McClure of San Jose, CA.
Pallbearers will be Phil Adams, Kevin Rogers, Murry Litton, Terry Clark, Wade Shepherd, and Ricky Stone. Honorary pallbearers will be Sylvester Kirk, Roland McClure, Joel McClure, Brian McClure, Thomas McClure, John McClure, James McClure, Jim Taylor, Danny Lynchard, Percy Lynchard, Stevie Sherwood, Matt Wilson, Brian Jackson, Austin Ray, Ron Muirhead, Tommy Muirhead, Taylor Muirhead, Graham Cassibry, J.
