April was born April 19, 1965, in Hinds County to Paul Auby Brookshire and Patricia Camara. She worked as a barber for 25 years.

She is preceded by her father Paul Auby Brookshire (Melinda); mother, Patricia Camara (John); nephew, Landen Brookshire.

April is survived by her daughter, Misty Adams; grandchildren, Devan Bucklew (Alex), Allie Brooke Adams, and Nolton Adams; brothers, Anthony Camara and Chance Brookshire; sister Cammie Balducci (Chuck); Misty's father, Mark Hopkins; fiancé, Stefan Schneider; father-in-law, Frank "Pop" Schneider; loving aunt Freda Kennedy Witcher (Tom); best friend, Debra Knecht (Larry Jo); nephews, Charles Balducci,  John Balducci, and Liam Brookshire; mother-in-law, Darlene Schneider; her beloved dog, Mr Krinkles.
