Mrs. Bertha L. Williamson, 71, of Benoit, MS, passed away Friday, November 25, 2016, at Delta Regional Medical Center in Greenville, MS. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Saturday, November 26, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life Services will immediately follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. John Read and Rev. Mark Worsham officiating. Interment will be in Beullah Cemetery. Mrs. Williamson was born in Shaw, MS, on January 17, 1945, to Charlie Irby and Mary Lee Irby. On June 8, 1963, she married Thomas Boyd Williamson in Rosedale, MS. She served as a city clerk for the town of Benoit for 37 years before retiring. Mrs. Williamson above all loved her family. She is preceded in death by her parents, Charlie Irby and Mary Lee Irby; and brothers, Charles Irby and Kenny Irby. Mrs. Williamson is survived by her husband, Thomas Boyd Williamson; sons, Chuck Williamson (Jackie) of Cleveland, MS, Jackie Williamson (Kim) of Gautier, MS; grandchildren, Hamp Williamson of Cleveland, MS, Emileigh Williamson of Cleveland, MS, Merry Elizabeth Williamson of Cleveland, MS, Joanna Williamson of Gautier, MS, Kristianna Williamson of Gautier, MS; and special friend, Frances Hudson of Benoit, MS. Pallbearers will be Brian Williamson, Wade Williamson, Chad Williamson, Hamp Williamson, Bobby Williamson, and Bubba Bailey. In memory of Mrs. Williamson, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church in Benoit or to the Gideons.
