Mrs. Betty Sue Threet Brown, 78, of Terry formerly of the Delta, passed away June 4, 2010 at University Medical Center in Jackson. Services will be 11:00a.m Tuesday, June 8, 2010 at Ray Funeral Home. Burial will follow at Shelby Cemetery. Visitation will be 6-8p.m. Monday, June 7, 2010.
Mrs. Betty was born February 10, 1932 in Boyle to Cecil and Vivian Threet. She resided in Boyle until she moved to Shelby in 1945. While there, she became a graduate of Shelby High School Class of 1949. In 1952, she moved to Jackson to work for Guy Bailey Insurance for 15 years. She was a beauty advisor for Merle Norman for 4 years, worked for the State Department of Education for 7 years, was a member of Order of the Eastern star, and was a member of the Optimist Club.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Vivian Threet.
Mrs. Betty is survived by daughter, Phyllis Rae Bridgers (Chip) of Terry, MS; brother, Cecil Bernard Threet of Ruleville, MS; two grandsons, Allen Thomas Bridgers and Ryan Bridgers; three great-grandchildren, Allen Thomas Bridgers, Jr., Ethan Bridgers and Nathan Bridgers.
