Billy Loyd Newton

Billy Loyd Newton, 84, of Gunnison, MS passed away peacefully at home on September 28, 2023 from heart failure and kidney disease.  

Billy was born on March 17, 1939 to Robertous and Ollie Newton in Tippo, MS.  Billy was a United States Veteran of the Army.

He enjoyed fishing and hunting as his hobbies.  

Preceded in death by his son, Spencer Loyd Newton;  parents, Robertous and Ollie Newton; and a host of brothers.

Billy is survived by his loving wife of 48 years of marriage, Margie Louise Newton of Gunnison; children,  Keri Newton of Gulfport; Michael Newton of Jacksonville, FL, Sherry Douglas (Gary) of Alberta, AL, and Mitzi Wyatt of Gulfport, MS; 3 grandchildren;  6 great grandchildren; and a host of nieces and nephews.  

A visitation and Memorial Service will be at Gunnison Baptist Church in Gunnison, MS at a later date.
