Bobby Stanford

Bobby Carroll Stanford, 87, went to be with his Lord and Savior on March 16, 2026. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 18, 2026, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS.  A Memorial Service with immediatley follow.

He was born on March 10, 1939. Bobby was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose life was defined by faith, family, and hard work. He was married to the love of his life, Sylvia Howard Stanford, for 67 wonderful years. Their marriage was a beautiful example of lifelong love, devotion, and partnership. Together, they built a life centered on love, commitment, and unwavering devotion to one another.

He was preceded in death by his son, Billy Stanford; his brother, Gerald Stanford; and his parents, C.T. and Nettie Ola Stanford.

He is survived by his loving wife, Sylvia Howard Stanford; his daughters, Melanie Roberts and Amanda Fontaine (Patrick); his brother, Ricky Stanford (Betty Lou); his sister, Brenda Bounds (Randy); and his sister-in-law, Tollie Stanford. He also leaves behind a host of nieces and nephews who loved him dearly.

He was a proud grandfather to Brady Stanford, Emily Ann Stanford, Timothy Roberts, Taylor Williams, Wesley Fontaine, and Sydney Fontaine. He is also survived by two great-grandchildren, McRae Stanford and Quinton Roberts.

Bobby spent much of his life working the land and providing for his family through farming. He believed in the value of hard work and was deeply committed to caring for his family and those around him.

Bobby was a faithful member and deacon at Skene Baptist Church, where he served his church family with humility and devotion. His faith guided his life, and he was known by many as a man of integrity and kindness.

He loved the simple pleasures of life—spending time with his beloved beagles, playing dominoes with his friends, and most of all, spending time with his wife and family. Bobby had a generous heart and was known by everyone who knew him as someone who would truly give the shirt off his back to help someone in need.

His legacy of faith, generosity, and love for his family will live on in the many lives he touched. His family finds comfort in knowing he is now at home with the Lord.

The family would like to express their deep appreciation to the staff of Delta Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center for the excellent care they provided, and especially to Keisha, who was a wonderful and compassionate caregiver.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to Skene Baptist Church, 2174 Highway 446, Boyle, MS 38730.
