Mr. Bobby Travis Williams, 74, of Drew passed away Saturday, December 26, 2015, at North West Regional Hospital in Clarksdale, MS. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Drew Baptist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, December 29, 2015, at Drew Baptist Church with Rev. Bill Kirkpatrick officiating.
Mr. Williams was born on August 12, 1941, in Tallahatchie County, MS to Joe A. Williams and Lillie Rogers Williams. He attended schools in West Tallahatchie. On July 8, 1961, he married Peggy Ruth Pettigrew in Ruleville, MS. Mr. Williams was retired from Delta Cookie Company after thirty years, and he was a member of Drew Baptist Church. He loved deer and duck hunting, watching the Dallas Cowboys play football, and playing golf. You never knew what he would say or do because he was always so comical and humorous. He will be remembered for always having a smile on his face. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Lillie Williams; and siblings, Earnest Williams, Lexie McKee, William Henry Williams, Margaret Williams, Claudie Williams, Dorothy Wood, and Ava Mitchell. Mr. Williams is survived by his wife of 54 years, Peggy Pettigrew Williams of Drew; son, Greg Williams (Shannon) of Eads, TN; daughters, Melinda "Sissy" Leake of Michigan City, MS and Anne McKee Geralds (Bill) of Memphis, TN; granddaughters, Taylor Williams, Kelsey Lewis, Rachel Leake and Kim Fletcher; grandsons, Dawson Williams, Blake Wimberly, Bailey Wimberly, Nolan Leake, and Dylan Leake; siblings, Helen McCullough of Sumner, MS and Billy Joe Williams of Sumner, MS; loving Schnauzer, Luke Williams; and a host of in-laws and outlaws and many nieces and nephews. Honorary pallbearers will be Arvin Flemmons, Billy Joe Waldrup, Warren Griffin, Charles Yarbrough, Dennis Yarbrough, and Bobby Saxton. In memory of Bobby Williams, donations may be made to Drew Baptist Church.
