Brenda Jackson passed away peacefully at her home on July 23, 2025, in Cleveland, Mississippi. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother who touched the lives of many with her warmth and kindness. Visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, July 26, 2025 at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow at 12:00 p.m. Interment will be at North Cleveland Cemetery.
Brenda was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 54 years, Lance Jackson; her parents, Evit Richardson and Nelson & Emma Billingsley; sisters, Rose Anderson and Wilma Dean Richardson, and brother Daniel Thomas Billingsley.
She leaves behind a large and loving family that includes her children, Jeff Jackson (Laurin), Greg Jackson (Sandi), Jeremy Jackson (Kim), and Tracy Jackson Hays (Chris). Brenda's legacy continues through her grandchildren: Rachel Taylor (Matt), Reagan Jackson (Bill), Katherine Oakes (Jesse), Molly Ferguson (Blake), Owen Jackson (Sarah Grace), William Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Jackson Hays, and Tanner Hays; her brothers: Don Richardson, (Sherry), and Adrain Billingsley, and her sisters: Janice Black, Norma Thompson, and Nila Tipton. More than anything, she cherished her role as a great-grandmother to Mason Taylor, Easton Taylor, Reid Oakes, Rhys Oakes, Gregory Blake Ferguson, Charlie Hays, Casey Jackson, and Avery Rose Jackson. These children warmed her soul in the later years of her life. They were without a doubt her greatest pride and joy.
Brenda had also recently found a loving new family in her Morrison Chapel Baptist Church friends who stood by her side and loved her dearly.
Pallbearers will be Jackson Hays, Owen Jackson, William Jackson, Aaron Jackson, Tanner Hays, Matt Taylor, Jesse Oakes, and Blake Ferguson.
Brenda’s life was characterized by her unwavering love for her family and her commitment to creating cherished memories. Every single child, grandchild, and great-grandchild always had a place at Mamaw’s house. She will be deeply missed by all who had the incredible privilege of knowing her. Her spirit will forever be a guiding light for her family, who will carry her love in their hearts.
Memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital or to Morrison Chapel Baptist Church.
