Burdie Elodia Chaney

Burdie Elodia Chaney, age 89, was called home to be with our Lord on Wednesday, January 29, 2020 in Cleveland, MS. Visitation will be held Saturday, February 1, 2020 at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following. Burdie was born to Flora Mae and William Pace on March 23, 1930 in Louisville, MS. She married James William Chaney (J.W.) on December 6, 1947 in Rosedale, MS. Burdie will always be remembered for how much she loved children. She is preceded in death by her husband, J.W. Chaney; and sons, Albert Lee and Larry Wayne Chaney; parents, William and Flora Mae Pace; sixteen siblings. Burdie is survived by her sons, William Chaney, Roy Chaney (Melinda), J.W. Chaney Jr., Billy Ray Chaney, and Lonnie Earl Chaney (Martha); daughters, Linda Upton (Lee), Brenda Kay Chaney, and Luvenia Mae Farmer (Nick); sister, Christine Wilkerson; and thirteen grandchildren.
