Mrs. Carlene Gibson Ellis, 76, of Shaw, passed away Sunday, August 26, 2018, at UMMC in Jackson. Carlene was born in Blaine, MS, on June 30, 1942, to Carl Bernett Gibson and Carrie Pauline Davis Gibson.  On August 12, 1960, she married Charles Robert Ellis. She worked for many years as a Certified Nurse Assistant in private nursing care as well as at North Sunflower Medical Center.
She had a vibrancy for life and shined her light on many; this showed through her love of caring for others and by her using her energetic personality to make people smile.  She loved any sport, especially the ones she could participate in while playing with her children and grandchildren. She greatly enjoyed playing baseball with them in the front yard; every moment spent with them was a treasure to her. During relaxation times she could be found reading books, crocheting, working on crossword puzzles, being outdoors, going on road trips, and camping.
Carlene is preceded in death by her father, Carl Bernett Gibson and mother, Carrie Pauline Davis Gibson.
She is survived by her husband, Charles Robert Ellis of Shaw; sons, Mike Ellis (Carolyn) of Drew, Matt Ellis (Lesa) of McGehee, AR, and Joe Ellis (Jan) of Fort Cobb, OK; sister, Robbie Ratcliff of Eakly, OK; brothers, Vernon Gibson (Carol) of Birmingham, Al and James Victor Gibson of Shaw; grandchildren, Brent Ellis (Kristina), Wendy McClain (Justin), Michael Ellis (Rachel), Sydney Blaine Ellis, and John Ellis (Jade); step-grandchildren, Allen Haney (Alicia) and Andrea Haney Duvall (Ethan); great-grandchildren, Ethan McClain, Jet Ellis, Kambri Parker Ellis, and Letty Ellis; step-great-grandchildren, Eli Robert Haney and Cooper Paul Duvall; and a host of Beloved nieces and nephews.
