Carolyn Rayner Meyer, affectionately known as "Cack," passed away peacefully on February 26, 2026, at the admirable age of 101 and 7 months.

A visitation service honoring Miss Cack will be held on Tuesday March 3rd, 2026, at 10:30am at Merigold Methodist Church, with a celebration of life following immediately at 11:30 am.

Born on July 26, 1924, to Edgar and Sue Rayner in Greenville MS. Cack graced this world with an unparalleled spirit and was a steadfast beacon of kindness and resilience throughout her life. Cack attended Stephens College before becoming a proud graduate of Louisiana State University where she graduated with a bachelors in Home-Economics in College of Agriculture as well as a member of the Chi Omega Sorority. Cack utilized her education and compassionate nature to cultivate a life that was rich in giving. As a dedicated homemaker Cack poured her heart into every facet of her existence, embodying the true essence of love and dedication, particularly towards her family. She was widely recognized as the most caring woman anyone could meet—always willing to extend a helping hand, she found joy in serving others, firmly believing in the strength of community and the power of faith. Her unwavering devotion to her church and her deep commitment to the Lord were key pillars that shaped her character. In her remarkable journey, Cack achieved countless proud accomplishments. She served as the Farm Bureau Women’s Chairman, a board member of the Methodist Children’s Home, and Library Chairman at Bolivar County. Furthermore, she was a prominent figure on the Board of Directors at the Wesley Foundation, where her influence and leadership nurtured the growth and development of many.

Though she is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John Jacob Meyer, and her parents, Edgar and Sue Rayner, her dear son Jon Rayner Meyer, and her sister Sue (Billy) Latham. The depth of her love and the impact of her life are felt profoundly by all who had the honor to know her. Carolyn Rayner Meyer will forever be remembered for her grace, her love, and her unwavering support of those around her, leaving a legacy that will inspire generations to come.

Cack's legacy is immortalized in the hearts of her loving family. She is survived by her daughter Susan Meyer (Doug) Anderson, and sons Jim Field (Mitsi) Meyer and Edgar Bingham (Louise) Meyer, daughter-in-law Cindy Allen, as well as through her grandchildren: Katherine Meyer Patterson (Chris Blaine), Clayton (Megan) Anderson, Johnathan Anderson, Laura Anderson (BJ) Walbert, Daniel Meyer (Lindsey) Anderson, Jason (Jana) Meyer, John Latham (Rebekah) Meyer, Edgar Rayner Meyer, Caleb Pilgrim, Trippe (Neely) Pilgrim, Harris Meyer, and Jessica (Chris) Jarvis, along with her cherished thirteen great-grandchildren.
