Mr. Charles Robert Ellis, 80, of Shaw, passed away Thursday, March 14, 2019, at Allegiance Specialty Hospital in Greenville. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday, March 16, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home.  Celebration of Life services will be 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March 17, 2019, at Ray Funeral Home.   Interment will follow in Linn Methodist Church Cemetery.
Charles was born in Doddsville, MS, on October 22, 1938, to Graham Ellis and Ethel Smith Ellis.  On August 12, 1960, he married Carlene Gibson. He was a chemist for D & L Factory for 35 years before retiring. Charles always kept a beautiful yard and was a talented gardener. He had a love for all musical instruments and enjoyed playing his guitars. He liked watching Western movies, baseball, fishing and hunting.
Charles is preceded in death by his wife, Carlene Ellis; parents, Graham Ellis and Ethel Smith Ellis; and sisters, Jeanette Harvey and Eloise Lindsey.
He is survived by his sons, Mike Ellis (Carolyn) of Drew, Matt Ellis (Lesa) of McGehee, AR, and Joe Ellis of Fort Cobb, OK; grandchildren, Brent Ellis (Kristina), Wendy McClain (Justin), Michael Ellis (Rachel), Sydney Blaine Ellis, and John Ellis (Jade); great-grandchildren, Ethan McClain, Jet Ellis, Kambri Parker Ellis, and Letty Ellis; siblings, Brenda Weed (Ben) of Greenwood, Linda Lopez of Drew, Bobbie Dale Ford of Oxford, and Lester Ellis of Drew; and a host of Beloved nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Justin McClain, Shannon Lindsey, T.J. Free, Trent Free, Michael Ellis, John Ellis, and Paul Pannell.
