Cortez Terrell Thigpen

Cortez (Tezzy) Terrell Thigpen, 29 of Drew was called home to be with his Lord at his home surrounded by his family. There will be a graveside service honoring is his life Saturday, April 25, 2020 in the Drew Cemetery.
Tezzy was born July 20, 1990 in Drew, MS to John Thigpen and Stella Mae Covington. He graduated from Drew High School in 2009. Tezzy enjoyed playing and coaching basketball and baseball. He volunteered in the summertime working with young children in summer leagues and into the fall. His desire was to be a coach. He always was willing to help anyone, but especially children live out their dream. Tezzy had a servant's heart. He loved his cousins and spending time with family and friends.
Tezzy is preceded in death by sister, Jon-Unna Miracle Thigpen; grandparents, Preston and Claudia Spicer; grandfather, Edward Thigpen Sr. He is survived by father, John Thigpen; mother, Stella Mae Covington; brothers,Christopher Covington Jr. of Drew, MS, Nickolaus Luckett of Drew, MS, Darius Luckett of Drew, and Jartavius Thigpen (LaBrittany) of Drew, MS; grandmother, Annie Thigpen
