Darl Burnside

Darl Harrison Burnside, 98 passed away at 9:22 a.m. on Saturday, August 29, 2020 at the Good Sherperd Nursing Home in Little Rock, Arkansas. A visitation will be held at 10:00 a.m. at Ray Funeral Home on Thursday, September 3, 2020. A graveside service will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the Shelby Cemetery. She was born on April 18, 1922 in Shaw, Mississippi to Hampton & Carrie Harrison. Darl had two sisters, Madge H Taylor of Jacksonville, FL, and Edith H Martin. Darl married Dick Burnside. She graduated from Shaw High School, Sunflower Junior College, Delta State University, and she received her master's degree from The University of Mississippi (Ole Miss). Upon retirement she travelled all over the United States, Europe, and the Holy Land.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Hamp & Carrie Harrison; husband, Dick Burnside; sister, Edith H Martin. Darl is survived by her children, Richard Burnside of Mabelvale, AR and Judith B Bohot of Houston, TX; sister, Madge H Taylor; five grandchildren, Allison Baker, Shane De La Chapelle, Richard Burnside II, Jason Burnside, and Hamp Burnside; eleven great grandchildren with one great-great grandchild on the way.
