Dennis Alonzo Williams

Dennis Alonzo Williams, 82, of Merigold, MS, was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, May 10, 2020, at his home. There will be a graveside service at 11:30 a.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Drew Cemetery. Dennis was born on July 15, 1937, in Doddsville, Mississippi. He grew up in Drew and graduated from Drew High School. He married the love of his life, Joyce Williams, on February 1, 1964. Dennis also served in the National Guard. He loved his family, farming, Western movies, and people in general. He always enjoyed peanut butter and crackers with a Coca Cola. Dennis will always be remembered for being a loving, family man. He was a member of Drew Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon. Dennis was also a retired mail carrier and farmer. Dennis is preceded in death by his parents, Alonzo Williams and Elzada Cook Williams; his daughter, Millie McClendon; his brother, Leon Williams; and his sister, Iris Wiladene Burrell. He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Joyce Williams; his son, Denny Williams (Cindy); his sister, Eloise Parker; six grandchildren, Brittany McClendon, Taylor Williams, Chase Williams, Matthew, Zachary, and Cody Martin; and a host of loving nieces and nephews.
