Doris was born on September 23, 1960, in Cleveland, MS to the late Lavelle “Bill” Ferguson &

Margarette Ferguson. Doris grew up in the MS Delta where she attended school an later in life

met and married the love of her life Herman Irby on July 31, 2004. Doris was a Loving, Caring

Wife mother and grandmother who loved and enjoyed cooking, and having her family and kids

together for the holidays. Riding around the farm with Herman and cotton harvest season was

her favorite time of the year, she loved mowing her yard while listening to her music. She

especially loved George Strait, some of the family would say he was the only man in a close

second to Mr. Herman. she loved being on the farm bottle feeding and raising calves hatching

baby chicks and riding their horse Hightower with Herman, “Shep” their German shepherd was

her favorite fur baby. Doris especially loved Christmas time and decorating for it and having all

the family gathered around for the special time of the year. Also don't let Doris find out that

you were having a baby, she would make them a beautiful basket and or blankets. One thing

about Doris you always knew what she thought about you and it. She was honest an direct

with no hesitation in life,, and a fighting spirit like no other. In her eyes there were no “step”,

just children, grandchildren, great grandchildren even down to the grand poodle but most of

all she loved Herman and her family.. Doris was loved and cherished dearly by Mr. Herman, he

went above and beyond to always take care of her even in the hardest times. We also want to

take a moment to thank doctor corkan AKA “doctor fantastic”, Dr. Hayk, Ana Smith, Makayla

Manus and the delta Hospice group an all family and friends during this time.
