Dorothy Nell Barrentine Johnson died peacefully at home on May 11, 2019 after a long illness. She was 87. She was born and raised in Bolivar County, Mississippi and later moved to Phillips County, Arkansas. There she married LeRoy Johnson in 1949. She was a member of First United Methodist Church, Drew Garden Club, Cleveland Garden Club, Cleveland Woman's Club, American Agricultural Movement, and Women in Farm Economics. She held a Mississippi Realtor's License and was a successful agent with the Cohen Real Estate firm in Cleveland, Mississippi.
She is preceded by her eldest son, LeRoy Johnson, Jr. She is survived by her beloved husband, LeRoy Johnson; her two daughters, Carolyn Allie Johnson of Shelby, Mississippi and Mary Susan Johnson of Shelby, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Samantha Allie Tharp, husband, Rodney Arnold Tharp of Indianola, Mississippi and Mary Rachel Carver of Oxford, Mississippi; son, Gregory Earl Johnson, wife, Robin Ann Johnson; grandson, Barrett Deloach Johnson of Indianola, Mississippi; granddaughter, Sarah Amrhet Johnson of Greenwood, Mississippi; and three great grandsons, Rodgers Johnson Tharp, Riley Kirksey Tharp, and Jacob Hartley Carver.
