Dottie Ann Witt DeFillips

Ms. Dottie Ann Witt DeFillips, 68, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, March 25, 2019, at her home. Visitation will be 12:00 to1:00 p.m. Friday, March 29, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church in Cleveland. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 29m, 2019, at the First Presbyterian Church with Rev. Sid Harmon officiating.
Dottie was born in Milford, Ohio on July 18, 1950, to William (Billy) Witt and Kathleen Witt.  She married John Salvatore DeFillips in Marathon, FL.
She dedicated over twenty years of her life to teaching in Florida. After her retirement, she moved to Cleveland where she would be close to family.
Dottie continued doing what she loved most which was working with young children by being an assistant 3-K teacher at Presbyterian Day School in Cleveland. She was a member of EPHFIC Women's Club in Cleveland, where she made new friends in Mississippi.  Dottie enjoyed game nights with her friends in Florida, was an avid reader, loved to talk, always with a smile, and never met a stranger.  She loved animals, especially her dog and two cats. Dottie left a lasting legacy through the many children she taught over the years, and fondly referred to them as "her kids".  These students in return adored her.
She is preceded in death by her husband, John Salvatore DeFillips; and her parents, William and Kathleen Witt.
Dottie is survived by her four sons, Matthew William DeFillips (Sydney) of Cleveland, MS, Jason Scott Repasy of Fairview, NC, Shawn Michael Repasy (Corrie) of Oxford, NC, and Ryan Patrick Repasy of Hickory, NC; and grandchildren, Raylan, Sophia, and Lucas Repasy.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that contributions be made to Presbyterian Day School (Cleveland, MS) or Kreative Kids Christian Academy (Marathon, FL).
