It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Elizabeth Giaccaglia Rocconi, who departed this life on August 24, 2025, at the age of 96.
A visitation honoring Mrs. Elizabeth will be held on Saturday, August 30, 2025 from11-12pm with a Mass following at 12pm in Our Lady of Victories Catholic Church. Graveside will proceed in the New Cleveland Cemetery.
Elizabeth was born on March 22, 1929, to Mary and Queno Giaccaglia in Shelby, Mississippi, where she attended and graduated from Shelby High School. Elizabeth known as "Mama Roc" A dedicated and compassionate individual, Elizabeth devoted her life to serving her children, community and her faith. She even sewed her children's clothing. was an active member of her church, where she took great joy in her role as choir director lector and eucharistic minister, sharing her love of music with all who joined her in worship as well as her knowledge and wisdom regarding the Bible. Elizabeth was a proud member of various organizations, including the Knights of Columbus, Moore Lodge, American Legion, and the Ladies Catholic Group, where she forged lasting friendships and memories. Most of all Elizabeth Rocconi will be remembered for her profound kindness, dedication, and the countless lives she touched throughout her journey.
Elizabeth is preceded in passing by her parents, her loving husband Jimmy Rocconi, siblings, Henry & David Giaccaglia, Rose Rocconi, Lynn Cannella, and Nell RolisonElizabeth is survived by her beloved daughters, Charlotte Vaughn( Larry) of Olive branch, MS and Rita Rocconi Gwin ( Edgar) of Cleveland, MS, who will carry on their mother's legacy of love, service, and unwavering faith., her son James (Teresa)Rocconi of Cleveland, MS, 6 grandchildren, Lawrence (Andrea) Vaughn, Mitchell (Melanie)Vaughn, and Lance (Anna) Vaughn, Julian (Shelby) Rocconi, Steven Rocconi, and Tripp(Cassandra) Bufkin., 7 great grandchildren, Carter, Charlotte, Luke, Audrey (AJ), Tristian, Conner, and Taytum
