Freddie Kilgore Roark, a beloved member of the community went to be with the Lord on November 17, 2023, in Cleveland, MS. Friends and acquaintances are invited to pay their respects and celebrate Freddie's life at the visitation event held on November 20, 2023, from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Boyle Baptist Church, located at 208 N Brooks Ave, Boyle, MS 38730.  Celebration of Life Service will follow at 11:00 a.m.    A Graveside Service will immediately follow at New Cleveland Cemetery.  Pallbearers will be Winn Roark, Brady Pate, Justin Pate, Preston Gough, Dennis Steed, and Brandon Steed. 


Born on February 7, 1936, in the Mississippi Delta, Freddie lived a life filled with love and cherished moments. Her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in the lives of her family and friends.

Freddie's journey began in Mississippi, where she attended and graduated Skene High School. She then embarked on a fulfilling career as a cashier, leaving an indelible mark on the countless customers she served. Known for her warm smile, kindness, and impeccable customer service skills, Freddie brightened the lives of those who crossed her path.

In addition to her successful career, Freddie was devoted to her family. She shared 60 beautiful years of marriage with her husband Winfred Elwin Roark until his passing. Their love story was truly one for the ages—a testament to commitment and unwavering support. Freddie's children meant the world to her: Pam Harrelson and husband Tommy of Madison, MS; Nancy Pate and husband Ken of Cleveland, MS; and Fred Roark and wife Mary Jo of Cleveland, MS. She was a pillar of strength to them throughout their lives.

Freddie Roark also had the joy of being a grandmother to Stephanie Steed, Bethany Gough, Mary Margaret Steinle, Winn Roark, Brady Pate, and Justin Pate and 10 great grandchildren.   Each grandchild held a special place in her heart, and she cherished every moment spent with them.


Freddie is predeceased by her father, Austin Kilgore; mother, Rita Simmons; her loving husband of 60 years, Winfred Elwin Roark; sister, Rita Reed; brothers, Billy and Robert Kilgore.

Family was Freddie's anchor throughout her life, and she valued the bonds of love and support that held them all together. Her legacy will forever be imprinted on the hearts of her loved ones.

Freddie Kilgore Roark touched the lives of many with her gentle spirit and unwavering love. Her memory will be cherished by all who had the privilege of knowing her. In this time of grief, may we find solace in the enduring legacy she leaves behind—a legacy of love, kindness, and devotion that will continue to inspire us all.
