Gary Seymore, beloved husband, father, brother, and friend, passed away on June 29, 2023, in Benoit, Mississippi. He was born on August 19, 1956, in Greenville, Mississippi. The visitation will be held from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. July 2, 2023, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS with a Celebration of Life Service to follow immediately after. Interment will be held at North Cleveland Cemetery in North Cleveland Cemetery at 4:00 PM.
Gary was a man of many passions and touched the lives of those around him with his warm and caring nature. He will be remembered for his love of the great outdoors and his hobbies that brought him closer to nature. Gary found solace in hunting and fishing, finding joy in the peacefulness of nature. He was also known for his green thumb and took great pride in tending to his bountiful garden.
However, it was spending time with his family and friends that truly brought Gary the most happiness in life. His wife Kay stood by his side through thick and thin, creating a lifetime of cherished memories together. Gary was a loving and devoted father to his sons, Joseph Michael Bassie and Travis "Butch" McGarrh Bassie. He adored his one grandson, Lee Michael and great granddaughter Charlee Gray Bassie.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Gary Wayne Seymore Sr. and Janice Rose Litton Seymore; sister, Cheryl Lynn Seymore; and nephew, Cliff Medders.
Gary is survived by his loving wife of 47 years, Kay Seymore; sons, Joseph Michael Bassie of Greenville, MS and Travis "Butch" McGarrh Bassie (Cindy) of Cleveland, MS; grandson, Lee Michael Bassie (Brantley); great granddaughter, Charlee Gray Bassie of Cleveland; sisters, Debbie Joel of Cleveland and Angie Medders of Cleveland; nephews, Jay (Beth), Jeff (Elizabeth), John (Kaley) and Jarrod (Brandi) Joel.
Pall bearers will be Kirby Hafford, Larry Hellums, George Scott, Jerry Campbell, Calvin Ward, and Lane Jenkins.
Gary Seymore was a kind-hearted man who lived his life to the fullest. He will be deeply missed by all who had the pleasure of knowing him. May his soul rest in eternal peace, and may his memory continue to bring comfort and joy to those whose lives he touched.
