George Jackson Williams, Sr., 59, of Tillatoba, MS passed away at his residence July 2, 2010. Funeral Services will be held 12:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 6, 2010, at Ray Funeral Home with Rev. Thomas Bruce officiating. Burial will follow at North Cleveland Cemetery. Visitation will begin at 11 a.m. prior to the service.
Mr. Williams was born on July 27, 1950 in Sunflower County to Thomas Elwin Williams, Sr. and Myrtle Ozelle Brown Williams. He was a passionate truck driver for 35 years. George was a talented carpenter, and he loved fishing and dominos.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Thomas Elwin Williams, Sr. and Mertyl Brown Williams, and one grandchild.
Survivors include daughter, Angela Bowlin of Latonia, KY; sons, George Jackson Williams, Jr. of Rosedale, MS, and William Thomas Williams of Malvina, MS; Step-daughter, Lilly Holcomb of Cleveland, MS; sisters, Mary Silveria of Pearl, Ms, and Ann Summers (Sonny)of Tillatoba, MS; brother, Tommy Williams, Jr. (Nancy) of Woodstock, AL; and 11 grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Joe Phillips, Mike Williams, Terry Brewer, Brian McCunm, Bob McArthur, Ken Jones, Robbie Belk, Chad Carpenter, Scott Stroup, and Chad Ables. Honoraries will be Frank Michael, Brady Whitson, James Henry and Jimmy Woods.
