Harvey Brooks

Mr. Harvey R. Brooks, 88, of New Orleans, LA, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2016, at Chateau de Notre Dame in New Orleans. Graveside Services honoring the life of Mr. Brooks will be 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, June 29, 2016, at Drew Cemetery.
Mr. Brooks was born in Sheridan, AR on April 12, 1928, to John Hill Brooks and Sallie Nichols Brooks. He graduated with a Bachelors Degree in English and French from University of Arkansas and a Masters Degree from Tulane and a MFA Masters Degree from University of New Orleans. He worked for over 40 years as Professor Emeritus for Drama and Speech at Our Holy Cross College until his retirement. In his spare time, he loved to travel Europe and spent time in England finding much enjoyment in all things French. He is preceded in death by his parents, John Hill Brooks and Sallie Nichols Brooks; brothers, Jack Brooks and Carson Brooks; sister, Lillian Brooks Carpenter; and niece, Sallie Carpenter Marlow. Mr. Brooks is survived by his nephew, Mark B. Carpenter (Cindy) of Cleveland; great-nieces, Brooks Marlow Rizzo (Paul) of Cleveland, Lauren Marlow of Ruleville, and Caragan Carpenter of Cleveland; great-nephews, Chandler Carpenter and Conner Carpenter both of Cleveland; and great-great-nephews, Rian Rizzo and Rance Rizzo both of Cleveland.
