Harvey Gene Dreher, 80, of Cleveland, was called home to be with the Lord on May 5, 2025, surrounded by his family. Harvey was born on September 19, 1944, to Halley Morris Dreher and Merle Steed Dreher in Bolivar County, Mississippi. A graduate of Cleveland High School, Harvey married the love of his life, Arlene Flowers, on April 13, 1968. They have been devoted sweethearts for sixty years. After working over 40 years, he retired from Baxter Pharmaceutical Laboratories where he was in maintenance. Harvey was a good steward of his faith and an active member of Covenant Presbyterian Church. He served his community as an Auxiliary Policeman for over 25 years and was a member of the Cleveland Civil Defense along with his father who was a founding member. All who knew Harvey knew he was the perfect embodiment of a Christian man, setting the example for all to follow.
Harvey was a loyal and faithful friend to so many, he was, most of all, a loving family man who adored his wife and cherished his children and grandchildren. Preceded in death by his parents, Harvey is survived by: his wife, Arlene, his children, Greg (Candy), Jeff (Wendy), and his grandchildren, Mason, Colby, and Jenny Grace. Survivors also include his sister and brother-in-law, Sherry and Alton Vance, and nephews and nieces, Rodney (Ann), Michael, Michael Jr., Helen Claire, and Taylor. Visitation honoring Mr. Harvey Dreher’s life will be on Saturday, May 10, 2025, at Covenant Presbyterian Church from 9:00 – 10:00 a.m. with A Celebration of Life Service at 10:00 a.m. Internment will follow at the Delta Heights Memorial Garden Cemetery.
