Hattie Mae Weatherly Jones, 68, passed away, Thursday, September 9, 2010 at Mississippi Care Center of Greenville, Mississippi. Funeral services will be Monday, September 13, 2010 at Southside Baptist Church in Benoit, MS at 11:00 a.m. with John Reed officiating. Visitation will be held from 10:00 - 11:00, Monday, September 13, 2010 at Southside Baptist Church in Benoit. Burial will follow the funeral in Lehrton Cemetery in Ruleville.
Mrs. Hattie Jones was born in Ruleville, MS on October 19, 1941 to Oliver Felix “Coot” Weatherly and Hattie Mae Porter. She married Robert Lewis Jones, Sr. on November 3, 1958 in Ruleville, MS.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Oliver Felix “Coot” Weatherly and Hattie Mae Porter; husband, Robert Lewis Jones, Sr.; and children, Donald and Dickie Jones.
Mrs. Jones is survived by two daughters, Libby Jones Montgomery (Pete) of West Point, and Becky Jones Overlease (Steve) of Greenwell Springs, LA; two sons, Oliver F. “Coot” Jones of Scott, MS and Robert Lewis Jones, Jr. of Beulah, MS; grandchildren, Jennifer Montgomery Prewitt (Robert), Jim Montgomery, Josh Jones, Ashlee Jones, Matt Overlease, Robert Lewis “Les”Jones III; four great granddaughters; and a beloved dog, Nubby.
Mrs. Hattie Mae Jones was a devoted member of the Southside Baptist Church in Benoit. She loved her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren, and was very proud of them. Mrs. Jones was also devoted to her friends and her dog and loved them very much.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to American Breast Cancer Association and American Diabetes Society.
