Mrs. Jacqueline Joanna York Jones, 53, of Cleveland, passed away Thursday, January 28, 2016, at North Sunflower Medical Center. Visitation will be 2:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. Sunday, January 31, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. A second visitation will be held from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at Interstate Baptist Church. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 2:00 p.m. Monday, February 1, 2016, at Interstate Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Haney, Rev. Lee Kirk, and Rev. Dave Granville officiating. Interment will be in Interstate Baptist Church Cemetery. Jackie was born in Rosedale, MS on December 12, 1962, to Tommie A. York and Cleo Andrews York. On June 12, 1982, she married Kenny Lee Jones at Interstate Baptist Church where she was a dedicated member. She enjoyed church camp with the kids and directing the church choir. As a fan of contemporary Christian music, she could often be found tuning into the XM Radio station "The Message". She also loved to sing and play the piano. She was a fan of the outdoors and loved walking on the beach with her husband, enjoying the summer sun, and vacationing with her family. Her favorite place to go was Gatlinburg to enjoy the beauty of the mountains. Her family was the focal point of her life. She enjoyed watching her children play all sports ranging from basketball, to baseball, to cheerleading. Surrounding herself with her family was her favorite thing to do.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Tommie A. York and Cleo Andrews York; mother-in-law, Joyce Jones; and nephew, Brandon Jones.
Jackie is survived by her husband of 33 years, Kenny Lee Jones of Cleveland; children, Matthew Jones (Lauren) of Cleveland, Darby Jones of Cleveland, Nat Jones of Cleveland; sister, Hilda York Holder (Jimmy) of Hattiesburg; brothers, Kenneth York (Diann) of Clarksdale, and Calvin York (Donna) of Vancleave; grandchildren, Camille Jones of Cleveland and Levi Thomas Jones of Cleveland; nieces and nephews, Erin Holder Schmitt (Isaac) of Buras, LA, Dani Holder McVeigh (Caleb) of Hattiesburg, Amy York McCullough (Biff) of Oxford, Monica York Fields (Rusty) of Hurley, Skianne Clark of Horn Lake, Meg York Loeffler (Cory) of Southaven, Ken Ray York, II (Elayne) of Peru, Casey York (Kacey) of Gautier, Bethany Critchlow (Hans) of Monroe, LA, Stephanie Fleming of Cleveland, and Morgan Tindle (Jessica) of Cleveland; father-in-law, Jimmy Jones of Boyle; brother-in-law, Knottie Jones (Cindy) of Monroe, LA; and sister-in-law, Cherry Lynn Powell (Larry) of Shaw. Pallbearers will be Skeeter Bowen, David Robinson, Mark Redden, Greg Mangialardi, Andy Lambre, Will Reed, Albert Nylander, and Ben McIntyre. Honorary pallbearers will be Larry Cocilova, Roger Holder, Curt Newton, Ricky Stanford, Thomas Howarth, Thomas Haney, Stevie Burchfield and Jimmy Burchfield.
In memory of Jackie, the family requests that donations be made to Interstate Baptist Church.
