James Roy White

Mr. James Roy White, 80, of Ruleville, passed away Wednesday, June 22, 2016, at Greenwood Leflore Hospital. Visitation will be 3:00 to 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home. Celebration of Life services will immediately follow beginning at 4:00 p.m. Saturday, June 25, 2016, at Ray Funeral Home with Bro. Robert Rawson and Bro. Brent Smith officiating. Interment will be in Lehrton Cemetery. Mr. White was born in Linn, MS on September 23, 1935, to Remey Dell White and Alva Sheffield White. On March 31, 1963, he married Mary Rose Wilson in Leland, MS. He was a true Christian and member of Bolivar Church of Christ. Mr. White worked as a farmer for five years before dedicating 22 years in trucking working for Tyson Truck Company until his retirement. He was a wonderful, dedicated husband and father who was strong but was soft in encouragement. He was a good man and a very hard worker who was a father to many of the children in Ruleville, and he set a great example for them to follow. He is preceded in death by his parents, Remey Dell White and Alva Sheffield White Warf; son, Randy White; and brother, Gary White. Mr. White is survived by his wife of 53 years, Rose Wilson White of Ruleville; daughter, Pam White Crain (Steve) of Tuscaloosa, AL; grandsons, Roger Crain and Cole Shreves both of Tuscaloosa, AL; sister, Marjory White Boone (Roy) of Cleveland, MS; nephew, Mark Boone (Kathie) of Cleveland, MS; nieces, Carol Boone Tucker (Johnny) of Fulton, MS and Betsy Boone Henderson of Memphis, TN. Pallbearers will be Larry Davis, Lee White, Mark Boone, Brad Baugh, Charles Gorman, and Theatis Flakes. In memory of Mr. White, the family asks that donations be made to Bolivar County Church of Christ Building Fund 64 Oakridge, Boyle, MS 38730.
