James William 'Jimmy' Maxwell

James William "Jimmy" Maxwell, 76, of Horn Lake, MS, passed away on January 28, 2016. Jimmy was born in Ruleville, MS, on July 16, 1939, to J.B. Maxwell and Mary Ruth Williams Maxwell. He was raised in Ruleville and attended the Ruleville Public Schools where he graduated in 1958. Jimmy attended The University of Mississippi and Delta State University. He proudly served his country by serving in the Navy and later as a Lieutenant in the Army. Jimmy was preceded in death by his parents, J.B. Maxwell and Mary Ruth Williams Maxwell; and his brother, Floyd Allen Maxwell. Jimmy is survived by his son, Michael Sean Maxwell (Paula) of Horn Lake, MS; daughter, Mimi Maxwell Harder (Brian) of Memphis, TN; son, Brian Allen Maxwell of Jonesboro, AR; grandchildren, Felicia Jean Maxwell, Franklin Shelby Simmons, Joshua Thomas Harder, Aurora Kathryn Harder, and Brian Allen Maxwell, II; sister, Cecelia Maxwell Lusk of Heber Springs, AR; and his first wife and mother of his children, Margaret Jean Lamb of Memphis, TN. Graveside services are scheduled at 4:00 p.m. on February 26, 2016, at Lehrton Cemetery under the direction of Rev. James Breland.
