James William Kennedy, II

James William "Bill" Kennedy, II, 59, of Cleveland, MS, passed away Monday, June 4, 2018, at his home.  Visitation will be 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Thursday, June 7, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. 
Bill was born in Cleveland, MS, on December 12, 1958, to William Odom Kennedy and Alice Joyce Holaday Kennedy.  In 1986, he married Michell Brower in Memphis, TN.  He was an artist who was skilled at creating unique jewelry out of polished rocks.
He is preceded in death by his ex wife, Michell Brower Kennedy; father, William Odom Kennedy; and niece, Kennedy Joli Smith.
Bill is survived by his mother, Alice Joyce Holaday Kennedy of Cleveland; son, James Alan Kennedy of Newport, AR; grandson, Hayden Kennedy of Newport, AR; sisters, Holly Reece (Rodney) of St. Louis, MO, June Gregg (David) of Como, MS, and Alice Smith (Joe) of Boyle, MS; nephews, Bryan Reece of St. Louis, MO, Jacob Smith of Boyle, MS; niece, Joey Marie Smith of Boyle, MS; aunt, Bertie Ann Holaday of Louise, MS; and friend, Betty Alice Gary.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rodney Reece, David Gregg, Joe Wayne Smith, Darrel Holaday, Gerry Holaday, and Robert Heslep.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations made to First United Methodist Church, Methodist Children's Home, and/or Kennedy Joli Smith Nursing Scholarship at DSU School of Nursing, P.O. Box 31441.
