Jerry Wayne Bullock

Jerry Bullock, age 73, went to be with the Lord on March 29, 2024. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, April 2, 2024, in the Fellowship Hall of the First Baptist Church at 101 N Bolivar Ave, Cleveland, MS.  Celebration of Life Services will follow at 2:00 p.m. in the First Baptist Church Sanctuary officiated by Rev. Brad Beckwith.

Jerry was born June 3, 1950, in Montgomery, AL, to Lee Earl Bullock and Louise Pollard Bullock.  Jerry married Kay Belk Bullock of Cleveland, MS, on November 21, 1971, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Cleveland, MS.

In 1968 he graduated from Drew High School. He then moved on to receive a BA in Business Administration from the University of Mississippi in August 1972. He furthered his education receiving a Masters of Business Administration from Delta State University in 1979 and lastly received his Masters of Banking from Louisiana State University in 1986.

Jerry began work in 1972 for Cleveland State Bank in Cleveland, MS, where he continued banking for the next 49 years, retiring at Bank Plus as City President. His career in banking will be long-known and universally agreed as an honest one. He pridefully and skillfully banked not on the procedure, but on the person.

Jerry served on the Cleveland-Bolivar Chamber of Commerce as both an ambassador and a member of the Board of Directors. He was a faithful member of the Cleveland Noon Lions Club for over 40 years serving as President, Treasurer, Vice-President, Secretary & Director during that time. He was a Commercial Chairman for the United Way and a Chairman for the American Heart Association.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Cleveland for over 40 years serving as a Deacon and Finance Committee ChairmanJerry was a devout Christian and knew the Lord! Anyone that knew Jerry, knew that his love for family came second only to his love for the Lord.

He was preceded in death by Lee Earl Bullock (Father), and Louise Pollard Bullock (Mother).

Jerry is survived by his wife Kay of 52 years, daughter Angie (fiancéJoe Riley), son Sean (Debbie), and sister Gail Cummins. Jerry and Kay were spouses, friends, and shining examples of a Christian marriage. Of all Jerry’s accolades and titles, none were more cherished than his title of “Pop” to his grandchildren, Niven(fiancéNason Heflin) and Kolten. He was also blessed with a host of other family members. Jerry also had siblings not related by blood. They all joined as one during their time at Ole Miss as Sigma Nu's and have long been referred to as the "Five Brothers." Joe McCoy, Ike Sayle, Walter Burkhalter, and Russell Blair were faithful friends and brothers up to Jerry’s very last day.

After the services at First Baptist Church, a private burial service of family, pallbearers, and honorary pallbearers will follow.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the First Baptist Church Youth Fund or the charity of your choice.
