Jerry Russell

Jerry Russell, 62 of Gunnison, MS was called home to be with the Lord on June 6, 2024. A visitation honoring Jerry will be held from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m.  Saturday, June 8, 2024, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS with a Celebration of Life Service immediately following at 1:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home. A Graveside will be held in the Beulah Cemetery following service. 
 
Jerry was born on January 27, 1963, to Laverne & Ozema Cortez Pearson Russell in Rosedale, MS. Jerry grew up in Gunnison where he attended school. After school, he started his career as a Crane operator for Anderson Tully for many years. Most of Jerry’s family were all mechanics, and he himself worked as a heavy equipment operator & mechanic for all of his life. Jerry was an avid outdoorsman who loved fishing and hunting. Jerry was a hardworking man who would help anyone in need. Most of all Jerry cherished his time with his family and friends. 
 
Jerry is preceded in passing by his father, Mabury Laverne Russell.
 
Jerry is survived by his wife, Anita Stubbs Russell of Hernando, MS; mother, Ozema Cortez Russell of Rosedale, MS daughters, Ashley (Carl) Vest of Fayetteville, AR. and Miranda (Nick) Jones of Hernando, MS; grandchildren, Dawson, Alyson, Carson, Jackson, and Madison; brother, Jimmie (Janicee) Russell of Gunnison MS.
