Johnnie Powell

Johnnie Powell, 96 of Cleveland went to be with the Lord on May 3^th of 2023. Visitation will be May 6^th at 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will begin at 2:00 p.m. Interment will follow at North Cleveland Cemetery.

Johnnie Powell was born on February 13 of 1927 to Leroy and Marie Howell. She graduated high school in 1945 in Merigold then went on to become a LPN in 1963. She was a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary, and American Legion Auxiliary. She married her husband, Raymond Powell in December 2, 1944 in Cleveland, MS.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Allen Powell; her parents, Leroy and Marie Howell; twin sister, Annie Jo Bruce; brother, Dorsey Howell.

She is survived by her children, Glenda Kennedy (Wade), of Noxapater, MS, Clinton Powell (Nancy) of Boyle; grandchildren, Mickey Davis (Crystal), Cyndi Pickett (Bill), Randee Kennedy, Mary Rucker (Joel), Marie Parker (Derek), Melissa Smith; brother Earl Howell; with a host of great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.
