Jon' Unna Miracle Thigpen, 3 weeks old, passed away on May 7, 2018, at The University of Mississippi Medical Center. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will follow at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, May 12, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Pastor Ricky Walker officiating. Interment will be in Merigold Cemetery.
Jon' Unna was born on April 14, 2018, to John Thigpen and Dorothy Smith in Jackson, MS. She loved to play with her dad; her face would light up when her parents walked in the room, and she would cry when they left. Jon' Unna always wore a smile on her face and loved to kick her hands and feet around. She never liked for her diaper to be on or to be held. She was strong and loved to squeeze your finger if given the chance. Her name meant "A Gift, A Blessing" and she was a true miracle that lived up to her name.
She is preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Edward Thigpen and maternal grandfather, Jessie Walker.
Jon' Unna is survived by her mother, Dorothy Smith of Shelby, MS; father, John Thigpen of Drew; siblings, Jartavius Thigpen of Drew, Cortez Thigpen of Drew, Darius Luckett of Drew, and Nikolaus Luckett of Drew; paternal grandmother, Annie Thigpen of Drew; maternal grandmother, Linda Smith of Shelby; aunts, Crystal Smith of Revona, Evera Bates of D'Low, Barbara Thigpen Barber of Drew, Ella Thigpen of Drew, and Sheila Johnson of Lara; and uncles, Harvey Thigpen of Ruleville, Tony Thigpen of Biloxi, and Ed Thigpen of Drew.
