June Hammons Tollison Knight

June Hammons Tollison Knight, died on June 20, 2016 at the Cleveland Personal Care Community in Cleveland. She was born in Holcomb, MS on June 9, 1921. Visitation for family and friends will begin at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland at 10:00 on Wednesday, June 22, 2016. A brief service will follow at 11:00 in the chapel at Ray Funeral Home.
Burial will take place in the Lehrton Cemetery near Ruleville.
Hers was a wonderful childhood, blessed with loving parents and ten lively siblings. She was a talented storyteller and regaled her children and grandchildren with stories of adventures on the family farm near Holcomb. Her favorite gatherings were holidays that brought all her brothers and sisters together.
Her hobbies were genealogy and collecting antiques-and on any given Saturday she could be found at Mr. Sklar's in Drew, or Mr. Alford's in Cleveland, or Russell's in Greenwood.
She was a graduate of Holcomb High School and Draughon's Business School in Greenwood, where she met her husband Ed.
For forty years they owned and operated Tollison Insurance Agency in Ruleville, MS, where they were active members of Ruleville Baptist Church and loyal supporters of all Ruleville activities. She was preceded in death by her parents, Marguerite Tilmon Moore Hammons and A. W. Hammons, Sr.; her husband, Edward E. Tollison, Sr.; her son, Edward E. (Bubba) Tollison, Jr.; her husband, Morris Clinton Knight; and four sisters and five brothers.
Survivors include her daughter, Cyndie Tollison Harrison and her husband Bill of Jackson, MS; her daughter-in-law, Becky Miller Tollison of Ruleville; and her sister, Patsy Hammons Arnold and her husband Joe of Birmingham, AL.
She also leaves behind five grandchildren: Abby Graves McCall of Mobile, AL, Ansley Tollison Vanlandingham of Leland, MS, Andrew McLean Harrison of Seattle, WA, Michael Eugene Harrison of Madison, MS, and Zachary Culp Tollison of Ruleville. In addition, she leaves eight great-grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.
