Karen Elizabeth Kay Walker
Karen Elizabeth "Kay" Walker, 73, passed away on Friday, November 2, 2018, in Jackson, MS. Visitation will be 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Graveside Service will follow beginning at 2:15 p.m. on Monday, November 5, 2018, at North Cleveland Cemetery. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Kay was born on December 6, 1944, to L.B. and Velma Williams in Cleveland, MS. On February 14, 1975, she married Marvin Herbert Walker in Shaw, MS. She loved spending time outside in the garden or her yard tending to her plants. Kay cherished the holidays especially being able to cook for her family. She spent most of her time cleaning. Kay will be remembered for her genuine love and great sense of humor. She is at peace and happy with our Heavenly Father and with all the family members that have gone on before her.
She is preceded in death by her parents, L.B. and Velma Williams; daughter, Lori Renee Walker; and sister, Virginia "Gigi" Wischman.
Kay is survived by her husband, Marvin Walker of Cleveland; children, Pamela Horn of Cleveland and Tim Burchfield (Jennifer) of Cleveland; step-children, Doug Walker and Angela Walker both of Birmingham, AL; grandchildren, William Worthington of LA, Lex Horn of Cleveland, and Cassidy Walker of Birmingham, AL; sister, Jan Hughes (Kay) of Brandon; and a host of nieces, nephews, and extended family.
Pallbearers will be William Worthington, Lex Horn, James Allen Herbison, Billy Walker, Tim Walker, and Robert Walker.
The family would like to thank all the medical staff who took care of her but especially those at MS Baptist Medcal Center in Acute ICU in Jackson, MS, for the wonderful, loving care given to her.
