She was a member of Providence Baptist Church for 62 years, and she taught Sunday School for 54 of those years while also being an active choir member. She once traveled with local Baptists to Argentina on a mission trip. Memaw was very faithful in her Bible Study each week. She was also an avid painter, seamstress, and creator of the "Cotton Owl". She was preceded in death by her parents, William Reed Aycock and Polly Josephine Aycock; infant daughter, Kay Cheri Gladden; and son, Joseph Richard Gladden. Mrs. Gladden is survived by her husband, Oscar Richard Gladden, Jr. of Cleveland; sons, David L. Gladden (Peggy) and Paul D. Gladden both of Cleveland; daughter, Tina C. Gladden of Cleveland; daughter-in-law, Marjorie Riley Gladden of Cleveland; granddaughters, Beth Gladden Kelly (Ronnie) of Cleveland and Jenny Gladden Brackin (Joseph) of Cleveland; grandson, David Lee Gladden, Jr. (Whitney) of Madison, MS; five great-grandchildren, Hunter Lee Kelly, Hannah Grace Kelly, Tucker David Gladden, Macy Maloy Gladden, and Connor Joseph Brackin; and sister, Dorothy A. In memory of Mrs. Gladden, the family requests that donations be made to your home church or to the charity of your choice.
