Laurel Burnside Travis, 75, passed away on October 9, 2020 at her home in Rosedale, MS after a courageous battle from a cancer diagnosis in May 2019. A visitation will take place on October 11, 2020 from 2 p.m - 4 p.m at Ray Funeral Home.
She was born on September 19, 1945 in Cash, Arkansas to Boyce and Eva Burnside. She graduated from Shelby High School and Delta State University. She married Charles Seth (Tee) Travis on January 28, 1966. She was an avid tennis player for over 40 years. She blessed the members of Trinity Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Rosedale with her beautiful alto voice. Nana could always be found in the stands cheering for her grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Boyce Burnside and Eva Joiner; sister, Barbara Moore; and brother, Bubba Burnside. She is survived by her husband, Tee Travis; daughter, Candace Dalton (Cracker); son, Chuck (Wendy); grandchildren, Seth, Preston, and Lillie; and brother, Bruce Burnside (Susan). Memorials may be made to the Tennis Foundation of Mississippi or the charity of your choice.
