Lena Delores Willett, 88, of Cleveland, MS, passed away on April 12, 2018, at Nichols Rehab Center in Madison, MS. Visitation will be 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Friday, April 13, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 14, 2018, at Ray Funeral Home with Brother Gary Lawson officiating. Interment will be in North Cleveland Cemetery.
Lena was born May 14, 1929, to George and Nellie Allen in Doddsville, MS. On September 26, 1947, she married Paul Thomas Willett in Rosedale, MS, and they were married 59 years. She was very excited to get a job at Baxter Health Care where she worked for 25 years until retirement. She loved working outside, gardening, sewing, quilting, and cooking. Lena enjoyed traveling to Branson, MO, and watching Steve Harvey on Family Feud. In her spare time, she liked playing cards especially Spades and Rook. Lena was a very frugal woman who knew the worth of everything, and she loved her family with all she was.
She is preceded in death by her parents, George and Nellie Allen; husband, Paul Thomas Willett; daughter, Charlotte Willett Matteson; grandson, Ronald Thomas "Ronnie" Willett, II; and sister, Lillie Mae Trichell.
Lena is survived by her son, Ronald Thomas Willett (Jo) of Flora; daughter, Judy Willett McAffry of Cleveland; grandchildren, Melissa Hale York of Cleveland, Bert Hale of Prairie Duchien, WI, Cyndi Hale Couey of Cleveland, Rhonda Dee Willett Bills of Cleveland, Wendy Willett Norwood of Cleveland, and Shelli Matteson Childers of Clarksville, TN; 14 great-grandchildren; and was looking forward to her two great-great-grandchildren who were on the way.
Pallbearers will be great-grandsons: Noah York, Ethan York, Dalton Bills, Bailey Bills, Dillon Norwood, Hunter Norwod, Steven Couey, and Clint Couey.
Memorials in honor of Mrs. Willett may be made to But God Ministries (400 Frontaine Place, Suite 103, Ridgeland, MS 39157) or to Calvary Baptist Church.
