Lena Opal Yarbrough

Mrs. Lena Opal Yarbrough, 83, of Merigold, MS, passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019, at North Sunflower Medical Center in Ruleville, MS. Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at West Drew Baptist Church. A Memorial Service will follow beginning at 11:00 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2019, at West Drew Baptist Church with Brother Rick Milam officiating.
Opal was born on December 4, 1935, to William and Mae Terrell in Ruleville, MS. On July 19, 1954, she married Dennis Wayne Yarbrough in Cleveland, MS. Opal was a family woman. She cherished her family, especially her grandbabies and great-grandbabies. Opal loved to cook and take care of them; she always made sure everyone was fed. She was a faithful member of West Drew Baptist Church, and enjoyed attending the Ladies Bible Study group.
She is preceded in death by her son, Kim Yarbrough; parents, William and Mae Terrell; and brother, William Kenneth "Bo" Terrell.
Opal is survived by her husband of 64 and a half years, Dennis Wayne Yarbrough of Merigold; sons, Doug Yarbrough (Nancy) of Hernando and Scott Yarbrough (Teresa) of Merigold; sisters, Jean Taylor of Canton, Maurice Troyer (Howard) of Southaven, Carolyn Webb (Billy) of Heber Springs, AR, Pat Moore (Rodney) of Drew, and Donna Mitchell (Jimmy) of Fort Payne, AL; nine grandchildren; twelve great grandchildren; and lifelong friend, Peggy Wilkerson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Rod Boyd, Mike Boyd, Lance Yarbrough, Spencer Yarbrough, Brandon Yarbrough, Nick Yarbrough, and Kyle Yarbrough.
Memorials may be made to the West Drew Baptist Church Building Foundation or the Cancer Society.
