Mrs. Linda Ann Green Smith, 62, of Cleveland, passed away Monday, July 23, 2018, at Delta Regional Medical Center. A Graveside Celebration of Life will be 4:00 p.m. Wednesday, July 25, 2018, at Memorial Gardens Cemetery on Highway 6 in Clarksdale with Rev. Will Wilkerson officiating.
Linda was born in Clarksdale, MS, on June 25, 1956, to Bennie Lee Green and Mary Helen Baron Green. On September 29, 1979, she married Ricky Smith at Trinity Baptist Church in Rosedale, MS. She worked for over twenty years as a receptionist in the insurance field with James Long as well as State Farm. Linda enjoyed working on the house and admiring the beauty of flowers, especially yellow roses. She loved all of God's creatures, and spoiled her cats any chance she got. More than anything, Linda will be remembered for her thoughtfulness for others; she always sent cards to friends and family for their birthdays, holidays, or any special event in their lives.
She is preceded in death by her parents, Bennie Lee and Mary Helen Green.
Linda is survived by her beloved husband, Ricky Smith of Cleveland; sisters, Cindy G. Bounds (James "Bubba") of Oxford, Elizabeth Irene Green of Pascagoula, and Mary Ellen Green of Pascagoula; and brother, Bennie Lee Green Jr. of Florida.
Due to Linda's love for animals, in lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to Bolivar County Animal Shelter in her memory.
