Linda Joyce Black, a cherished soul known for her infectious laughter and deep love of music, passed away peacefully on April 12, 2026, in Cleveland, Mississippi. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Thursday, April 16, 2026, at Ray Funeral Home, in Cleveland, MS. Celebration of Life Service will immediately follow. Interment will be at Old Cleveland Cemetery.
Linda was born on April 10, 1950, to Arnie and Vaudie Sandifer in Webb, Mississippi, Linda touched many lives with her humor, warmth, and joyful spirit.
Linda dedicated a significant part of her life to her career in office work, where she was known for her diligence and commitment while working for Stanley Gaines. Her professional life was marked by a quiet strength and a compassionate presence that endeared her to colleagues and friends alike.
She was a woman who loved to laugh and to make others laugh, bringing lightness and joy into every room she entered. Music and Cats was a profound passion for Linda, providing comfort and a source of inspiration throughout her life. Her vibrant spirit will be remembered fondly by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Linda was preceded in death by her husband, Kenny Black; her devoted parents, Arnie Clifton and Vaudie Sandifer; her son, John Robert Wright Jr.; her beloved grandchild, Roby Clogglanger; as well as her brothers Vernon, Paul, and Richard Sandifer; and her sister, Margrett Ann Sandifer. Their memories remain a treasured part of her enduring story.
Linda is survived by her daughter, Roxanne Lumley, and her dear sister, Sandy Winters, both of whom carry her legacy of kindness and joy forward. Though her physical presence will be greatly missed, her spirit continues to live on in their hearts.
