Linda White Russell, passed away on November 1, 2025, in Cleveland, Mississippi. Visitation honoring Linda will be held on November 4, 2025, from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. Following the visitation, a graveside service will take place at McNutt Cemetery, located at 1701 County Road 426, Schlater, MS, at 1:30 PM. Linda's memory will live on in the stories of her life, her contributions to her community, and the lives she touched.
Linda was born on March 5, 1949, in Greenwood, Mississippi, to Noah and Virginia White She was a beloved figure in her community, known for her entrepreneurial spirit and deep commitment to agriculture. Alongside her late husband, Edward Lee Russell, Linda owned and operated Russell Grocery in Schlater, a testament to her dedication to serving the local community. Together, they also managed Lee Russell Farms until his passing, highlighting their shared passion for farming and commitment to nurturing the land.
Linda's career in agriculture transcended her family business; she served as a Manufacturing Supervisor and Manager at Viking Range, where her expertise was recognized and appreciated. In 2023, she retired from CGB grain elevator in Rosedale, MS, but continued to engage with the agriculture industry, forming lasting friendships with local farmers. Her enthusiasm for working within this field was evident, and she cherished the connections she made throughout her career.
A graduate of Greenwood High School and Mississippi Delta Community College, Linda's education laid a foundation for her varied career endeavors. She was an avid lover of the outdoors, often found fishing or participating in duck hunting, experiences that she cherished dearly with her husband. In addition, she participated in various Bass tournaments, demonstrating her adventurous spirit and love for nature.
Linda was known not just for her work and achievements, but also for her warmth and kindness. She took great joy in her family, particularly her grandchildren, Anna and Collin Russell, with whom she loved spending time. As an animal lover, Linda had a big heart, often taking in stray cats and dogs, and even welcoming in Clint's friends, reflecting her compassionate nature.
She will be fondly remembered for her daily interactions with those around her, including the heartfelt moments spent with Jake, the family dog, where she delighted in giving him treats. Linda’s personality drew many to her, and her legacy of love, compassion, and hard work will undoubtedly linger in the hearts of those who knew her.
She is preceded by her father, Noah White; mother, Viginia White Lucas and stepfather, Walter Lucas; husband, Edward Lee Russell; brother, Bobby Gene White; and sister-in-law, Marie Fowler Causey.
Linda is survived by her son, Clint Russell (Tiffanie); her sister, Carolyn Manning (Clyde) and sister-in-law, Helen Hodges; and her cherished grandchildren, Anna and Collin Russell; along with many beloved nieces and nephews.
