Lynne Perry Long, 67, of Pinola, MS passed away Tuesday April 13, 2021 at UMMC. She was born in Leesburg, FL on September 5, 1953 to Cecil Wesley Perry and Tim Hall Perry. She married Samuel Vernon Long on April 19, 1975 in Weirsdale, FL. Lynne along with Sam spent fourteen years in Lake Creek, Texas, and have been members of the Charleston United Methodist Church in Charleston, TX. She loves the community and church family in Charleston, and continued to support their missions even after moving to Pinola, MS. She graduated with her bachelors degree from the University of Florida and received her masters degree from the University of South Florida. Lynne was an Agriculture teacher and FFA advisor at Wildwood, Citrus and Dunnellon High Schools. She spent the majority of her teaching career at Dunnellon. She really loved helping the students especially with all of the FFA activities. She went above and beyond for the kids and truly impacted the lives of many. She enjoyed working cattle with her family, following her kids sports and activities and going to the beach in the summer time. She is preceded in death by her father Cecil Wesley Perry, mother Tim Hall Perry, mother in law Lenora Sley Long and father in law Herman Ellis Long. Survivors include her husband Sam Long, daughter Joy Gleason (Steve) of Cleveland, MS, son Sammy Long (Jamie) of Lake Creek, TX and grandchildren Gavin Long and Peyton Nipp of Lake Creek, TX, Gavin and Avery Gleason of Oakdale, CA. In lieu of flowers, the family ask for donations to be made to one of Lynne's favorite charities Cal Farley Boys Ranch in Texas, Florida Sheriffs Youth Ranch or the Shriners Children's Hospital. Services will be held at a later date.
