Margaret Henderson

Margaret Bourgeois Henderson, 96, of Cleveland, MS went to be with Lord Wednesday, October 5, 2022. A Funeral Service will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, October 9, 2022, at Calvary Episcopal Church in Cleveland, MS.

Margaret was born December 27, 1925, in Jackson, MS to Ernest and Ernestine Bourgeois. She graduated from Central High School in Jackson, MS.  She attended college at The University of Mississippi and was a member of Chi Omega Sorority. While in college she met her husband, Robert Harvey, who went on to practice law until he was 86 in Sumner, MS. Her family owned the oldest jewelry store, Bourgeois Jewelry, which was open for over 100 years located in Jackson, MS.  

She attended Calvary Episcopal Church.  The thing she treasured most was her faith in Jesus Christ.  She enjoyed bible study, bird watching, working in her yard, playing bridge, and interior decorating. Margaret loved to decorate her home for the holidays and enjoyed showing it off to her family and friends.  She especially loved her rabbits.  Margaret never met a stranger.  She would always go introduce herself and genuinely wanted to know everything about her new friend.  Margaret was such a Southern Belle and always "dressed to the nines".  She loved watching Ole Miss football and westerns.  Last but not least, Margaret loved ice cream.  

She is preceded in death by her parents Ernest and Ernestine Bourgeois, husband, Robert Harvey Henderson of Sumner, MS, son, Robert Harvey Henderson Jr. of Sumner, MS, sisters, Christine Yates of Jackson, MS and Adrienne Boone of Jackson, MS.  

Margaret is survived by her daughter Jane Henderson McCaslin (Melvin Rich) of Cleveland, MS, granddaughter, Katherine Meyer Patterson (Chris Blaine) of Cleveland, MS, great-granddaughter, Whitney Patterson of Denver, CO, and her brother-in-law, Gene Yates of Jackson, MS.
