Margaret Kitchens Goss, a beloved nurse and cherished mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully on September 16, 2024, in Cleveland, Mississippi. Visitation will 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 22, 2024, at Ray Funeral Home in Cleveland, MS. A Memorial Service will immediately follow at 2:00 p.m.
Margaret was born on February 16, 1942, in the Mississippi Delta to David and Jincy Kitchens.
For over 25, she graced the halls Bolivar Medical Center with her infectious spirit and unwavering commitment to healing. Her vocation as a nurse was not just a job for her; it was a calling that she embraced wholeheartedly. With countless lives touched by her compassion and expertise, Margaret built a legacy of care that will long be remembered by her coworkers and patients alike.
Outside of her professional life, Margaret found joy in reading books and restoring antique furniture, pursuits that illustrated her love for history and storytelling. She cherished the timeless beauty of the past, often drawing inspiration from her projects and sharing them with family and friends.
Margaret's proudest accomplishment was co-owning and operating Pace's Junktiquing, store with her daughter, Molly. She appreciated the charm of antiques and collectibles. This venture reflected not only her and daughter's entrepreneurial spirit but also her love for connecting with others through shared interests.
Her family was the center of her universe, and she is survived by her devoted son, Frank, and his wife, Connie, as well as her loving daughters, Molly Hall and her husband, Mark, and Ann Garner and her husband, Todd. Margaret leaves behind a beautiful legacy in her grandchildren: Melissa Rocconi (Donnie), Mandy Melton (Michael), Frank Ryan Goss (Apryl), Paul "PJ" Goss (Sharon), Mark Hall Jr. (Leigh Ann), Chelsea Tharp (Jack), Tony "TJ" Caswell (Katie), Jennifer Caswell, and Brianna Garner. She also leaves behind 22 great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild, each of whom she adored with all her heart, along with a host of brothers and sisters.
Margaret was preceded in death by her parents, David and Jincy Kitchens, her beloved husband Marvin Goss, and her grandson Matthew Hall. Their memories and the lessons of love they imparted remain an everlasting source of strength for her family.
Throughout her life, Margaret embodied grace, warmth, and unwavering support for those around her. Her presence will be deeply missed but her spirit will live on through the countless lives she touched and the enduring love of her family. In remembering Margaret, let us carry forward her legacy of kindness, compassion, and a passion for life.
